Inhabitar is an Architecture Studio in Phnom Penh, established in January 2017 by Director Yothea In.

Yothea is an accomplished senior architect, working across a broad range of projects and across all stages of the projects, with focus on project delivery, innovation and coordination of large projects.
Yothea has over 25 years experience in architecture. He is an expert in Façade design and resolution of complex and innovative architectural details. He spent 12 years working in one of Australia leading design firms, Lyons (www.lyonsarch.com.au) and responsible for the delivery of some of the firm’s significant and award-winning buildings.

He has extensive knowledge of BIM and mobile and web-based collaboration technologies for project management and process management. He has worked on projects located across all major Australian cities (Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Prior to establishing Inhabitar, Yothea worked at Lyons, on many of the firm’s significant projects – Queensland Children’s Hospital (Brisbane), University of Adelaide Medical and Nursing Schools (Adelaide), Hedley Bull Centre (Canberra), Mornington Centre (Victoria), University of New South Wales Law Building (Sydney) and John Curtin School of Medical Research Stage 1 (Canberra).

He spent six years working on the award winning $1.5 Billion Queensland Children’s Hospital (formerly known as Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital) as a key team member responsible for the delivery of the project from feasibility study to Completion in November 2014. He was made an Associate at Lyons, in recognition for his contribution to the firm.

Yothea has extensive and continuing involvement with the Cambodian Community in Melbourne, Australia. He has worked on design and delivery of projects for Wat Khmer Melbourne and Wat Buddharangsi in Melbourne since 2007.

Inhabitar is a dynamic architecture studio, working on local and international projects. Its strength is its people – the talented young Cambodian Architects and the experienced director with high end international experience. Inhabitar aims to raise the local professional standard and to express local talent and expertise on an international stage.

In 2022 we are proud to have Sopheap Sok, Sreymean Phay and Narith Sam joined our leadership team as Associates. They have been with us from the beginning and will continue to help shape and grow the office.
